Workers of a readymade garments factory in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) staged a protest this morning, demanding a 9 percent pay hike.
The demonstration, which lasted for an hour, took place near the factory gate and in front of the CEPZ Administrative Building.
CEPZ Executive Director Md Abdus Sobhan said, “We have conducted a meeting with the factory owners and workers regarding the issue, and we are hopeful that the situation will normalise soon.”
